When he’s not obsessing over cars, he can be found traveling and trekking the great outdoors in the Pacific Northwest. He was raised in Southern California, lived and studied abroad for schooling, and then returned to the West Coast in San Francisco before ultimately migrating north to Portland where he calls home now.

J.R. has been involved in all things automotive from an early age. He’s held roles in various facets of the industry including journalism, engineering consulting, automotive finance, dealer marketing, racing, and was even a dealer principal. Leveraging this mix of experiences gives J.R. keen insights to the market, helping to secure the best deal possible for you.

A problem that needed solving sparked Dean’s passion for the business, and that can be summed up into one word: Simplify. Meet Dean Mitchell, a car nut since he was able to walk. He’s currently based in the Philadelphia metro area, but he has years of experience in the car business in both Chicago and in Philadelphia. If there is one thing that his experience has taught him, it’s that there’s always a better way to buy a car. Between the hours spent doing online research from websites sponsored by manufacturers and dealers, or trying to get information in person, he has shared the negative experience provided by sources such as TrueCar and Edmunds. The advice given is dubious, impersonal, and biased. The pricing information has catches or can be just plain misleading. The time for buying a car that way, and for stress headaches, is over. What used to take weeks or months can be accomplished in days and all with little to no stress to the buyer.

He has experience working with multiple different brands, from mainstream to luxury. His knowledge across all makes and models allow him to be an asset to anyone looking for the right fit for their automotive needs. Utilizing his father’s experience in auto lending for over 30 years, it enables him to become very knowledgeable in all aspects of leasing and financing automobiles. Dean’s mantra is providing a straight answer as soon as possible to any simple question.

Outside of cars, he’s passionate about helping and teaching others. Dean has been a bilingual tutor for Spanish-speaking children and speaks Spanish regularly to keep fluent. He loves to serve his community as well as serving abroad, teaching English in Brazil and building after-school centers in the Dominican Republic and Mexico. He studied International Relations at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI where he learned about how to negotiate treaties for peace and trade (much scarier than a car deal). Dean loves to travel when he can and looks forward to going to Europe soon. He’s an avid Chicago sports fan, but don’t hold that against him. He also loves going to concerts and seeing different live music.

Upon graduating from Angelo State University, Dan proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for 8 years. He then went to work for Tesla and then ultimately decided to move back to his home state of Texas and begin a new adventure.

Growing up in west Texas, Dan certainly has his pulse on what Texans love to drive. Whether it’s time to upgrade to a new 4×4 full size truck, or something more fuel efficient to beat the Austin traffic, Dan is enthusiastic to serve the greater Austin area and its car buying needs.

Now, he studies business at Arizona State University in Tempe, Az while living in Scottsdale, Az.
